The Club is NOT Closing

Posted 31st August 2008

We are aware of malicious rumours being spread by certain people that the club is closing at the end of this season.

We would like to state here and now that it is definitely NOT closing and we are doing our very best to weather the storm and keep the club going.

We are currently trying to find a new venue where a more permanent track can be set up. This will reduce meeting cancellations due to bad weather and provide better racing for both drivers and spectators.

So we are asking that you do your best to support us so we can continue. Spread the word that North Cornwall Motor Racing Club is here to stay.

The Gloves Are... On

Posted 12th July 2005 – Updated 21st July 2005

Due to a clampdown by our insurance company, from now on all drivers must bring gloves to meetings and wear them when racing.

They don't actually say what sort of gloves, so we'll leave that up to you...

Anyway, please make sure you bring a pair of gloves to meetings in future if you want to be able to race.

If you do forget them or don't have any suitable gloves, the club will have limited stocks of gloves available for sale at meetings.

TANK You...

Posted 4th July 2005 – Updated 23rd July 2005

We just received an e-mail from TANK (96) who was injured in Sunday's spectacular Demolition Derby:

"Just a note to say thank you to all who helped get me out the car on Sunday, including St Johns. Damaged ligaments and chipped bone, will be out of action for a month or so. If it is possible could you please put up a thank you note on the news page. Best wishes, TANK (96)."

For those of you who didn't see it, a photo of his wrecked Sierra Estate is opposite. Guess he won't be racing that one again...

Talking of photos, unfortunately we didn't get a good one of 254 (Steve Ryan) hitting TANK, so if any of you spectators did, please e-mail them to north.cornwall@bangerracing.com. You'll be credited on the photos and will receive a 50% royalty from every print sold.

Also if anyone has a good video clip of the hit, please let us know and we'll post it on the web site.

And just to clear this up once and for all, it was Steve Ryan (254) who hit TANK, not Nick Collins (36) as most people seem to think!

North Cornwall Motor Racing Club on the telly!

Posted 19th March 2004 – Updated 14th May 2004

We're now "as seen on TV!"

The last meeting of our 2003 season was filmed by Carlton Television for a programme called Boys Toys. The series started on Thursday 15th April and ran for six programmes.

NCMRC was featured in programme four which was shown on Thursday 13th May at 11.35pm on ITV1 Westcountry. The banger racing item was about 5 minutes long.

There was footage of their presenter racing in the bangers and some spectacular highlights from the day's racing and DD.

If you missed it and want to see it, we have it on video – see Chris (the photographer) at race meetings.
